Highlights from The Long Lunch with Mark Ritson

Friday October 12th saw the TAM Long Lunch with Mark Ritson take place in the Aviva. Thank you to everyone who joined us for what was a highly informative, thought-provoking and entertaining lunch.

Three things we learned:

  • It doesn’t need to be mass-marketing OR micro-targeting; you need to do both – sophisticated mass-marketing campaigns and then a focus on tight targeting for individual products.
  • Stop thinking that traditional marketing and digital marketing are separate; “Everything is digital now-they’re just the tools we use”
  • Synergy beats specialism.  A good campaign is a combination of different weapons at different stages of the execution to get the job done. “I believe a bit of TV, backed up by radio and then linked to search advertising will deliver a better result than pumping all my money into any one of these options.”
