Top shows on social media in Ireland W/C 12th February 2018

TAM Ireland are now working with Engager.

Engager analyse social engagement in terms of likes, comments, shares, and retweets across Facebook and Twitter.  Looking at data from February 12th-18th 2018 we can see that the Late Late Show was the top programme in terms of social engagement for all TV programming during that week. Coming in at a close second place was “Room to Improve”. This was the episode featuring Daniel and Majella O’Donnell. Interestingly this episode had more viewers than Friday’s The Late Late Show. In fact, the programme was the highest-rated programme on RTE this year and the most-watched episode ever of Room To Improve.

A perhaps surprising programme to feature in the top 10 was Tomi Reichental: Condemned To Remember which was broadcast on RTÉ One on Wednesday 14th Feb at 9.35pm. During the programme 81-year-old Tomi Reichental- who lost 35 family members in the Nazi Holocaust and is himself a survivor-  showed how racism is once again on the rise in Europe. This powerful documentary, and the reaction to it, shows us the power of compelling TV content.
