2026 TV advertising revenue continues its strong performance

TV commercial revenue continued its positive momentum in the first half of 2026, with total commercial TV revenue increasing by 3% compared with the same period in 2025. Revenue for the January to June period reached €136.5 million.
This revenue includes linear TV, non-spot (sponsorship, product placement and AFP) and BVOD (Broadcaster Catch-up/On-Demand services) revenue combined and is compiled for TAM Ireland by Guardian Management.
BVOD delivered the strongest growth, with revenue increasing by 12% year-on-year, while linear TV advertising also recorded solid growth of 2%.

H1 2026 Revenue

This positive result is driven by TV’s continuous ability to deliver strong and rapid reach to a mass audience. In Q1 2026, commercial television achieved an average weekly reach of 75% of Adults 15+, 67% of Adults 25–44, and 70.2% of Grocery Shoppers with Kids.

These results underline the enduring strength of broadcaster content in an increasingly competitive viewing landscape. In H1 2026, audiences continued to engage with a compelling mix of high-quality indigenous, Irish programming, including Room to Improve, Gogglebox Ireland and Dancing with the Stars, alongside successful UK programming such as Saturday Night Live UK and The Great Pottery Throw Down. Combined with the continued appeal of premium live sport—including the Six Nations, FIFA World Cup 2026 Play-Offs and Premier League football—broadcasters continued to deliver the scale, quality and engagement that advertisers value.
